On April 16th, 2019 the Connecticut River Valley local section of the AIHA will host  a meeting on Tick Vector Diseases. Among some of the topics that will be covered during this presentation are biohazards such as Lyme Disease and other Tick borne illnesses.  We will learn the transmission, etiology and prevalence of these diseases. The speaker will be Dr. Kirby C. Stafford III, Ph.D., from the Center for Vector Biology and Zoonotic Diseases at New England Regional Center for Excellence in Vector Borne Diseases. This is located at The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station. Dr. Stafford is both the Chief Entomologist and State Entomologist at the Department of Entomology. He is a local specialist in tick biology and uses his wealth of knowledge to speak about innovative modes of disease prevention. Registration is at 5:30 pm, Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm and the talk will commence at 6:45 pm.
